It was an exciting series of moments. Cole’s story book rise from a college graduate laptop producer, to struggling artist, to eventual Jay-Z signee is the blue print for our generation. It’s why we all started these rap blogs! Look at us! Look what we can do! We don’t have to wait for a tired hip-hop magazine to decide to feature our favorite local rapper. We don’t have to wait for a major label to sign a next to unknown act from our hometown. We can create these artists ourselves! We all contributed towards pushing the young artist towards a plateau we saw fit.
